Each fall, RACAR publishes a special issue entirely dedicated to a specific theme.
Recent issues have focused on Canada’s Wilderness Parks (2025), Cripping Visual Culture (2024), Sources of Research Creation (2023), and Black Diasporic Visual Histories (2022).

The deadline to submit proposals for a thematic issue to be published in fall 2028 is May 1, 2026.
